Champion Boxer to Speak at Harlem Day
Alicia Ashley to share expert advice at Health Day
NEW YORK, NY, August 18, 2011 /Health and Fitness PR News/ -- Champion female boxer Alicia 'Slick' Ashley teams up with the 37th annual Harlem Week festivities on Sunday, August 21st to participate in the 'NY City Health Village' exhibition.
Consisting of free health exams, testing, Q & A sessions and much more is a great opportunity for the women's boxing pioneer to share her advice to the community. Harlem Week, originally a one-day tribute to Harlem, has become a summer-long celebration of the community's rich economic, political, and cultural history.
The Jamaican-born Alicia will speak to children and aspiring athletes in attendance on topics such as following your dreams and hard work ethic along with teaching a few youngsters basic boxing techniques. For the adults and parents, "Slick" will talk about staying fit and maintaining healthy choices while balancing busy New York City lifestyle.
Ashley is notably one of the most accomplished and revered female boxers on the global map today. Just last month, Alicia won her fourth world title claiming the vacant WBC Super Bantamweight Title.
